Surrounded by his family at home, Antonio passed peacefully on July 31, 2023, at the age of 91. Of Collingswood. Formerly a longtime resident of Rahway, NJ. Loving and devoted husband of Lorraine DiGiorgio. Beloved father of John (Carolyn) and step-father of Angela and Robert (Kati). Cherished grandfather of Abigail and step-grandfather of Alyssa (Tom), Nicole (Aaron), Johnny, Elizabeth, Dana and Bobby and step-great grandfather of Tommy, Tucker, Tyson and Jeter. Predeceased by his sister, Mary DiGiorgio and his niece, Betty Knapp. Also survived by his nephews, Albert and Dominic DiGiorgio as well as many loving cousins.
Born in Pignataro, Italy on June 5, 1932, Antonio was orphaned during WWII with his sister Mary and came to the United States at age 14. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Antonio worked as a letter carrier and clerk for the Rahway Post Office. He enjoyed working alongside his cousin Angelo at his restaurant. Antonio loved spending time with his family, enjoyed cruises, gardening, days on the beach, cooking for family and friends and the taste of a good cigar. An avid ballroom dancer, Antonio took many lessons over the years to perfect his steps!
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday morning, August 4th from 9:30 to 11:15 AM at St. Joseph the Worker, Parish, St. Aloysius Church, 37 West Haddon Ave., Oaklyn, NJ 08107. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM in the church. Entombment with U.S. Military honors will follow in St. Gertrude's Cemetery Mausoleum, Colonia, NJ.
