Charles W. Oehlert of Bellmawr, NJ, formerly of Gloucester City, NJ age 65 passed away peacefully on April 5, 2023. Born on May 31, 1957 in Camden, NJ to the late Edward C. Oehlert, Sr. and Olive F. (Lonabaugh) Oehlert.
Charles honored his country by serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. as an Aviation Mechanic and Quality Assurance Supervisor after graduating from Gloucester City High School in 1975. He later transferred to the PA. Air National Guard in 1994 where he coordinated and developed operational maintenance requirements on all ACFT and related support equipment, before his retirement from the military 2011. He later worked in financial management and accounting for DLA before full retirement in fall of 2018. Charles enjoyed woodcraft, from making furniture to building models, and spending time with his buddies and grandchildren. He also had a passion for drafting and creating his own plans for various furniture and outdoor structures. He enjoyed parties and family gatherings where he could tell his latest jokes "Dad Jokes". Charles also enjoyed his desserts, more desserts followed by more desserts. He was a huge fan of country western movies and was currently revisiting his love for playing guitar.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Judith "Judy" (Ranieri) Oehlert; children, Victoria Oehlert, Deanna Scoleri (Dominick), Charles P. Oehlert; grandchildren, Emma Scoleri, Samuel Scoleri; brothers, Edward C. Oehlert (wife), Alexander Oehlert (Virginia), John Oehlert (Donna), Wayne Oehlert (Jennifer); sister-in-law, Jackie Oehlert. Charles was also predeceased by his brothers, Patrick and Ronald Oehlert and sister-in-Law, Georgeanne Oehlert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at St. Mary's Church, 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City, NJ 08030, where family and friends may visit on Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 pm and again on Thursday from 9 to 9:45 am. Interment will follow in B.G. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562.
