IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Consuelo Cecelia
Williams (Cuff)
August 27, 1950 – December 8, 2020
Incarnated as Consuelo Cecelia Cuff on the 27th day of August, 1950 at Atlantic City, New Jersey, Consuelo answered the call to return to her heavenly home on the 8th Day of December, 2020.The third of four children through the union of Alice Elizabeth Cuff (Oliver) of Montgomery, Alabama and William Burton Cuff of Atlantic City, New Jersey, Consuelo was more popularly known as "Connie", and affectionately and selectively allowed to be called by some "Bud", a childhood name given to her by her brothers, as she was always their tomboy buddy. She is preceded in crossing over by her mother and father, her sister Cheryl Dianne Brown and brother William Burton Cuff, Jr. Shortly after her arrival on the earth the Cuff family moved to Montgomery, Alabama where Connie attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Elementary School and later an all girls Catholic prep school. In the sixties the Cuff family relocated back to Atlantic City, at which time she attended Indiana Avenue Elementary School and then Holy Spirit Grammar School. Always a studious child, Bud also loved athletics, especially track and field where she won numerous races and long jump events. She was joined in marriage to Andre Devon Williams, a native of Atlantic City, New Jersey. This union produced two sons, Gerard Christopher Williams and Eric Alexander Williams. Consuelo spent most of adult life working in the hospitality industry. She spent her younger years in Atlantic City where she enjoyed spending time on the beach and crabbing, playing card and board games, watching movies and gambling. Her love and concern for children extended to many throughout her years as she often provided childcare support for her friends. Additionally, her generosity was also felt by all, in spite of her own limited resources. Connie was always a pillar of strength who made many, many sacrifices and endured much heartache and pain for the sake of family. Diagnosed with mental illness at an early age, Connie struggled with acceptance and compliance, and had several stretches of hospitalization in her lifetime. Even after divorce as a single parent, Connie's tenacity of purpose and maternal drive compelled her to come back from these episodes, to not only champion her own life and that of her children, but also to rise to the position of being a mental healthcare advocate. Her life wisdom and observations often amazed many who spent time with her. Connie's physical form will be missed by her two sons, Gerard Christopher Williams and Eric Alexander Williams of Atlantic City, granddaughter Destiny Williams of Pleasantville, NJ; Brother Nanya Yaasuf-El of Wilmington, DE; Nephews: James Earl Brown, IV and Cedric Martin Brown of Atlantic City, NJ; Cousins: Betty Jean Foy (Pierce), Kim Ward (Oliver) and family, Pierre Jones and family, Barbara Arceneaux (Foy) and family, Steve Foy and family, all of Montgomery, AL; Deborah Foy of Birmingham, AL; Parrish (Nancy) Crittenden and family, Roderick (Jackie) Crittenden and family, all of Atlanta, GA; LaRue Harman (White) and family from Atlantic City, NJ; and many devoted friends.
At her request, services will be private.
