Danielle Jeanine Nolan, 57, passed away unexpectedly, but surrounded by her family. Born on February 3, 1969, in Camden, New Jersey to Dan Sr. and Claire Showell.
Danielle married Stephen Nolan Sr., affectionately known as “Big Steve,” in 1995. She was a devoted mother to Stephen Nolan Jr. and a loving mother-in-law to Jennifer. Danielle was a proud and adoring aunt to Miranda Claire, known as “Randi,” who lovingly called her “Auntie Bean.” To many others, including her brother Dan Jr and his wife Angela she was simply “Nean.”
Danielle had a vibrant and colorful personality. She never met a sparkle she didn’t like, along with anything purple and black. She also loved buying thoughtful presents for the people she cared about. Spending time with Randi was one of her favorite things in the world.
Her beloved dog, Spot (whom she dubbed Spottie-liscious and fed treats like ice cream and cake with a spoon) held a special place in her heart, having once saved Danielle’s life after she was attacked by a dog she had been fostering.
As a child, Danielle spent many happy days fishing and crabbing with her father, often starting early at the shore and returning home just in time to change and head out for an afternoon soccer or softball game. Her love of the ocean never faded.
As an adult, that passion carried into her work when she spent time working in a cruise ship salon. Cruising remained her favorite way to vacation.
Danielle was creative and artistic. She opened her own salon, turning her passion for beauty and design into a career. Later, she moved into salon management and even explored her artistic side further by hosting paint parties that brought people together to create and have fun.
Danielle had a special place in her heart for animals and was known for feeding and caring for stray cats near the salon where she worked.
Danielle will be remembered for her generosity, creativity, and the deep love she had for her family, friends, and animals. Her sparkle, warmth, and kindness will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held for family and friends from 10am - 12pm on Tuesday, March 17th at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 851 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City, NJ 08030. Memorial Service 12pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite animal rescue or shelter.
