On December 14, 2024, Age 81. Peacefully in his home in Danielson, Connecticut. Formerly of Gloucester City, NJ. Loving husband of 48 years to the late Marie Walters (nee Daley). Cherished father of David Harry Walters, Jr., Denise (Paul) Kudelsky, Michael (Tracy) Walters, Ryan (Amy) Walters, Eric (Stephanie) Walters, Nicholas (girlfriend Christine) Walters and Anthony (Kim) Walters. Predeceased by his sons, Robert R. Walters and Adam J. Walters. Survived by devoted grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
David was born in Camden City and raised in Gloucester City where he was a longtime resident. He was a proud graduate of Saint Mary's Grammar School in Gloucester City. David was a welder for his entire professional career. He was very hard-working and dedicated to his job. David worked for Ironworkers Union Local in Philadelphia, PA and Boilermakers Union. He liked fishing, camping collecting metal, antiques and doing crossword puzzles. David enjoyed music especially from the era when he was a young man. He enjoyed nature and was always going outside to work and keep busy. David was a former parishioner of Saint Mary's R.C. Church in Gloucester City.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend David's viewing on Friday, December 27 from 10 am to 12 noon at the McCann – Healey Funeral Home: 851 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Catholic Service 12 noon in the funeral home. Cremation private on Friday afternoon. On Saturday, December 28, David's inurnment with his late wife, Marie will be at New Saint Mary's Cemetery: 515 West Browning Road, Bellmawr at 11 am. Please meet at the family plot. Memorial Donations in lieu of flowers made be made in David's name to the American Cancer Society, Specifically for Cancer Research: P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, Maryland 21741 – 6704 or www.donate.cancer.org
