May 20, 1958 – June 12, 2020
Surrounded by his loving family, at home, on June 12, 2020. Age 62. Of Gloucester City. Loving and devoted husband of Joan K. Bohrer (nee Flinn). Loving father of Courtney, Kathleen, Brian (Abby), Heather (Ken) and the late Billy. Cherished grandfather of Ellen Louise, Kenny, Lindsay and Nicholas. Beloved brother of Elaine Betts (Herb) and Jodi Applegate (Rich). Predeceased by his parents, Louise and Earl Bohrer and his in-laws, Joan and Ray Flinn. Beloved brother –in-law of Dennis, Liz (Patty), Kevin, Joyce, Meg Boice and the late Stephen (Flinn). Also survived by his "brothers" John and Dan O'Sullivan and Ken West, and his special devoted nurse, Kathy Friedrich, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Butch was a graduate of Pennsauken High School class of 1976. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Gloucester City and avid supporter of Gloucester Catholic. He was a proud member of the Gloucester City Knights of Columbus #674 and volunteered many years coaching for Gloucester City Soccer and Little Leagues. Butch enjoyed fishing, boating, listening to Motown and was a car enthusiast. He loved watching his children excel in sports and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewings on Wednesday evening, June 17 th from 6 to 8 PM and again on Thursday morning June 18 th from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 851 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday morning 10:00 AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Interment will be private in Harleigh Cemetery, Camden.
Funeral Home Guidelines for the 2 Viewings:
- At this time, we can allow up to 50 guests to be in attendance at one time (not overall attendance) at the viewing. Guests are required to wear masks / facial coverings when inside the funeral home and observe social distancing guidelines as per CDC recommendations.
St Mary's Church Guidelines:
- Churches in the Camden Diocese can only permit up to 25% of total church capacity (St. Mary's Gloucester = 150 people) including minimum social distancing of six feet. All guests attending funeral masses must wear masks / facial coverings (unless under the age of 2) during the entire mass. Additional guidelines can be found on the website for the Diocese of Camden ( www.camdendiocese.org ).
