"Captain Eddie"

Gloucester City – Surrounded by his loving family, Eddie passed peacefully on May 23, 2023, at the age of 95. Born and raised in Gloucester City, NJ, Ed was a longtime resident of Atlantic City, NJ and Pembroke Park, FL.

Cherished son of the late Edward A. and Wilhelmina Boyle. Predeceased by his sisters, Marie Boyle and Rita Chew. Survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Eddie was a retired insulator for Local 14 out of Philadelphia. He served in the Merchant Marines from 1945-1947. Eddie proudly served our country in the U.S. Army in Wurzburg, Germany. A lover of the water, he was a licensed ship captain, experienced SCUBA diver and divemaster, having trained the Atlantic City Police Department divers and many others. Eddie was known to many for being the Captain of the Gypsy out of Atlantic City, NJ.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday morning, June 1st from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at St Mary's R.C. Church, 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM in the church. Interment with U.S. Army honors will follow in New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
