J. Morrison
October 1, 1937 – April 7, 2020
Of Woodbury Heights formerly of Gloucester City. Passed on April 7, 2020. Age 82. Born in Woodbury, he was the son of the late Louis J. and Margaret (Kelly) Morrison. Edward is survived by his loving children, Bernadette A. Quigley (Michael), Rita A. Morrison, Edward L. Morrison (Cindy) and Margaret M. Young (Richard); loving grandchildren, Robert, Kyle, Bernadette, Michael, Louis, Devin, Mary, Matthew and Lauren. He is also survived by his sister, Anne Regina Piontkowski; sisters-in-law, Mary Enright, Maryanne Teesdale and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife of 42 years, Bernadette S. (Teesdale) Morrison on October 15, 2004 and his sister, Mary Williams in March of 2020.
Edward was honored to serve as a Councilman for Woodbury Heights and worked for many years with Columbia Records in Pitman and later with Gloucester County Community College in Maintenance Operations. He was a member of Infant Jesus Parish, St. Margaret Church for over 50 years and was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6364. In 2014, Ed ('56) received the Thomas Iacovone Legacy Award from the Gloucester Catholic Alumni Association. While working with Columbia Records, he played in their golf league where he was credited with two holes in one. For 30 years Ed brought joy by donning a red suit and white beard to spread Christmas cheer to everyone. Ed will be remembered for the meaningful impact his words had on all, especially his grandchildren. Ed loved family, time at the beach and Gloucester Catholic.
Due to Governor Murphy's Executive Order, Edward's graveside services will be held privately in New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr. The mass can be viewing on St. Mary's Church Facebook page on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 10 AM https://www.facebook.com/GloucesterSMCChurch/
There will be no viewing or visitation at this time. Any services will be announced at a later date.
