Edward F. Morris, Sr., age 90, of Haddon Township and formerly of Gloucester City, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, New Jersey.

Born and raised in Gloucester City, On October 10, 1935, Edward attended St. Mary’s Grammar School in Gloucester City and was a proud graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School, Class of 1953. He would meet up with his classmates once a month for lunch into his 80’s.

Ed went on to faithfully serve his country in the United States Air Force as a radio operator from 1956 to 1962. He dedicated many years of his professional life to the State of New Jersey, where he worked as a Principal Highway Inspector with the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Edward was respected for his strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment to public service.

He was an avid boater and saltwater fisherman who especially enjoyed time spent on the water with family and friends. Ed was also a lifelong member of the Farragut Sportsmen’s Association in Camden City, where he shared many lasting friendships and many cherished Easter Sunday dinners with family and friends.

Ed spent 47 loving years with his beloved wife, Evelyn Morris, and they were united in marriage in 2002, celebrating 24 years of marriage together. He was the cherished father of Edward F. Morris, Jr., Eric Morris (Elise), and the late John Morris (surviving wife Heidi). Ed was also a proud grandfather to JT, Brandon (Ashley), and three granddaughters. Predeceased by his siblings: Thomas Morris and Eileen Plunkett.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Edward’s visitation on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 9:45 am to 10:15 am at St. Joseph the Worker Parish: St. Vincent Pallotti R.C. Church, 901 Hopkins Road, Haddon Township. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in the church. Cremation and final disposition will be private at a later date.
