Surrounded by his loving family, on January 24, 2017. Age 87. Of Gloucester City.
Loving husband of 66 years to Theresa Underwood Rovere. Loving father of Theresa Rovere Grimm (Frank), Kathleen Rovere Nicholson (John), Linda Rovere Garris and Michele Rovere Lanciano (Domenic). Cherished grandfather of Emily Grimm Backowski (Benjamin), Caitlin Grimm Giles (Ryan), Lauren Nicholson Shryock (Dan), Sarah Nicholson Nolan (Greg), Maria Garris Lemma (Jeffery), Olivia and Brian Garris and Domenic, Gabrielle and Nicholas Lanciano. Cherished great-grandfather of Abigail and Liam Giles.
Gene proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during Korean War. He retired as branch manager for Burroughs Corporation in Trenton and Philadelphia. Gene was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary's Church. He was inducted in 1971 into the Gloucester City Lions Club by William Dilks and was an active member for 46 years to the present day. Gene was Treasurer for the Club for many years. He was a longtime member of Gloucester City Seniors Citizens Association.
Relatives, friends, Brother Lions members and families, Gloucester City Seniors Citizens Association are kindly invited to his viewing on Friday morning, January 27th, from 9:15 to 10:45 AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM in church. Interment with U.S. Army Military Honors in New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Church Fund: 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City, NJ 08030. Please memo: Egidio "Gene" D. Rovere.
