IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eugene "Jeep"
Macadams
December 16, 1923 – December 29, 2020
Eugene "Jeep" MacAdams was called home to be with our Lord on December 29, 2020, not long after his 97 th birthday. Jeep had lived in Brooklawn, NJ, Ocean View, NJ and Seminole, FL. Although his remaining family and friends were saddened by his death, we are choosing to celebrate his long life through the many stories he loved to tell many times over to any audience.
Jeep is survived by his brother, Horace MacAdams (Mary), his sister-in law Ann (Renny) and Jeep's children -- Jeanne, Ken (Patti), Tommy (deceased) (Marie), and Scott (Patty) MacAdams and his stepchildren, Paul (Jo-Ann) Scarlett and Ralph (Casey) Scarlett and their families which total 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and still counting.
He is predeceased by his wife Helen (Lewis Scarlett) and his first wife Norma (Richards), his parents Charles and Lydia, stepdad George Dolbow and four brothers, Charles (Claire), Joe (Thelma), Ed (Eleanor) and Renny (Ann), his son Tommy, grandson Evan, and other family members and friends. He has a whole host of people waiting to greet him in heaven.
Jeep was in the Navy CB's in the Asiatic Pacific Theater from 1942 – 1946 and spent his 30-year career as a Master Sergeant and then 1st Sergeant in the Army National Guard Headquarters Division of the 114 th Infantry in New Jersey. He loved going to Camp Drum NY every summer with the guards. He was known to help anyone with a problem or issue.
Outside of the Guards, he relished time with his family – especially his brothers -- and enjoyed following the Oklahoma University football team and the local girls' basketball teams with his sons and grandchildren.
Jeep and his brothers served 160 years in the military and we thank them for their service. Rest in Peace, Jeep. Your stories might become more colorful now, but we will keep them going. Your time on earth 12/16/1923 to 12/29/2020 was well spent.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 9 AM until 11 AM at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 851 Monmouth St., Gloucester City, NJ.
