Malloy, Sr.
November 29, 1929 – June 4, 2018
Eugene "RICK" Malloy of Mount Ephraim, 88, passed away peacefully & comfortably while surrounded by All of his Loving Family on Monday, June 4th. Rick was born on November 29, 1929 in Camden, N.J. to Thomas & Evelyn Malloy. He went on to serve in the United States Navy, including the Korean War, until finally returning home in the Fall of 1952, ultimately meeting the love of his life, Catherine and marrying the following year in 1953. Moving to Gloucester City, they raised 4 wonderful children, 3 boys and a girl. Mr. Malloy was very active in the community, from his services as a Volunteer Fireman to his years with the Gloucester City Little League as a Coach and Officer. Mr. Malloy took pride in his town and worked very hard to see improvements take place. He was a devoted Catholic who rarely missed Mass, and he was a very active member of The City's Lions Club right up until his last of days. He took much pride in the services of the Lions Club, most recently working last month's Annual Chicken Dinner at the local High School.
Above All, Rick was committed to his Family and his loving Wife of 65 years, Catherine. He is survived by Catherine, his beloved wife, and 4 children: Eugene "Ric" Jr., Catherine Malloy and Mike Hopson, Steven W. and Elsie, and Danny and Gemma. 14 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren.
