Obituary

Of West Deptford Township, formerly of Audubon, NJ. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Alvin Francis Grimm and Elizabeth (Flannery) Barnes. Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Theresa (Rovere) Grimm, loving daughters Emily Grimm, Caitlin Giles (Ryan); cherished grandchildren Abigail Rose and Liam Joseph. He is also survived by his sisters Deborah Ramon Gelsinger and Lisa Crawford.

Frank valiantly battled a rare and incurable disease, Cardiac Amyloidosis, for many years. His final hours were spent at home, surrounded by his loving family, listening to Frank Sinatra and the music that he loved best.

Frank will forever be remembered as the consummate gentleman. From escorting ladies along a crowded sidewalk to never being without a linen handkerchief, Frank exuded old world courtesy from the tips of his freshly shined shoes to his crisply creased trousers.

Frank proudly served his county during the Vietnam War in the US Army. He was assigned to the Assault Helicopter Group, 239th Aviation Company at Camp Stanley, Korea. He forever spoke fondly of his missions and his Army brothers during his time served.

Availing himself of the GI Bill, Frank attended Glassboro State College, and graduated from the Charles Morris Price School of Advertising. There he was awarded the T. Robert Steelman Award for Excellence.

Frank was retired from McKella280 in Cherry Hill, where he served as the Director of Sales and Marketing. He had also been the President of Service Litho, Inc. in Somerdale, NJ.

Frank was an effortless athlete, who enjoyed running, skiing, and golfing. As an Audubon resident, Frank golfed weekly with the "Bushwackers" group. Once living in West Deptford, he joined the "Tuesday Night Gang," golfing at the Westwood Golf Club.

Travels to Walt Disney World were frequent, as was sailing on the Disney Cruise Line. Frank was happiest on the sea with his wife, children, and grandchildren along with him.

In 2019, Frank fulfilled his dream, and visited his beloved ancestral home of Ireland, where he relished the beauty and history of his relatives.

Francis A. Grimm was a loving husband, beloved father, grandfather, and brother. When Frank loved you, he loved you "…to the moon and back."

And where his daughters are concerned, we will paraphrase Paul Simon when we say "…as long as one and one is two, there could never be a father whose daughters loved you more than we love you."

Family and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday, April 17th from 9 -11am ET at the McCann - Healey Funeral Home, 851 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City, NJ. His family will have a private burial at a later date.
