February 25, 1951 – April 24, 2022
On April 24, 2022, passed away peacefully at the age of 71. Of Tampa, Florida and Formerly of Riverside, NJ and Cherry Hill, NJ. Born in Camden, NJ, he was the son of the late Leon Frank and Ida Virginia (Hinkle) Trautz. Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Diane (Petty) Trautz; loving children, Angela Cedeno (Luis), Michele Gaffney (Tom), Jamie DeMarco (Antony); brother, Dean Trautz (Eileen); sisters, Linda Tuno and Donna Sweatman; 16 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Gary was also predeceased by his step-daughter, Alicia Megan Petty; brothers-in-law, Jim Sweatman and Tim Tuno.
Gary honored his country by serving in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a proud Mummer for many years playing the banjo for the Polish American Sting Band. He loved the mummers strut. Gary was formerly of Riverside, NJ where his mother lived on Carroll Street, "Virginia Trautz School of Dance." She taught all forms of dance, ballet, tap, jazz and ballroom dancing for many years!
Gary worked as a computer consultant for a computer software/ database administrator company before his retirement.
Methodist Funeral Services will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 4 th at 12 pm officiated by Pastor Dan Amey in the McCann - Healey Funeral Home: 851 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City, NJ, where family and friends may visit from 11 am to 12 pm. Burial with U.S. Military Navy Honors will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Gary to: Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1 st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 or to the: Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516. Topeka, KS 66675-8516. Please write Gary Lee Trautz in the memo.
