Obituary

Helen Rose Bramble was a long-time resident of Colonial Manor, West Deptford, NJ.

On November 14th, 2019, she entered Heaven peacefully, with her daughter Mary Ellen and son-in-law Tom at her side, in their home. She will be celebrating her 88th birthday in heaven this year on December 23rd with her beloved husband, Louis W. Bramble.

Helen was born in 1931, to Edward A. Miller and Mary E. (Johnson) in Gladwynne, PA.  She was the oldest of 12 children. She was raised in Philadelphia, where she made life-long friendships.   She graduated from West Catholic for Girls and yearned to continue her education but she worked all of her high school years and beyond to contribute to her family financially without a hesitation. She continued to embrace learning new things all her life.

She worked at various jobs, including as a switchboard operator for PSE&G in Camden NJ.

Her true life vocation was other people. She would drop whatever she was doing to help others, no thought on her own needs. She never let an opportunity pass to say how proud she was of her family. She was a very stoic person, enduring both physical and emotional pain with an ever-present million dollar smile. When asked why smile, she replied, "Why not???"

Both Helen and Louis were devout Roman Catholic long-time parishioners of St. Matthews in National Park, NJ.   The rosary was a daily part of their life; praying for those in need of healing.  They were comforted by their Faith in Jesus Christ's promise that we would all be Reunited again as Believers in Heaven. Death has no Victory.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Louie (January 1, 2011).

Her parents, Mary and Edward Miller, her siblings, Raymond Miller, Mary(Sissy) Brogan, Edward Miller, Roseann Fania and Nancy DeLozier.  Her much beloved dog, her sidekick and comforter, Maggie (Baby Duck) passed in  October 2019.

Left to cherish so many memories etched on their hearts, are her daughters, Mary Ellen Cooney (Thomas) of Pennsville, NJ. and Kimberly Waddington (Richard) of Sewell, NJ. Helen's Three Grandchildren whom she felt the sun rose and set on are James Griffith (Julie) and their daughter Mia Faye of Cherry Hill, NJ, Jayna Griffith of Philadelphia, PA and Amy Brown of Glassboro, NJ; Step-Grandchildren; Lauren Cooney, Rickie Waddington, Joyce Mead and Randy Waddington. Helen's remaining devoted Siblings, Richard Miller of Verga, NJ, Joan Costin (also Goddaughter) of Woodbury, NJ, Karen Miller of Paulsboro, NJ, Michele Miller of Woodbury, NJ, Christine Walker of Oakland Park, FL, and Susan (Louie) DeBenedittis of National Park, NJ. She was Aunt and Great-Aunt to many, she loved them and gave generously as they celebrated their families occasions.

Joan Taylor (Ron) was most comforting to Helen in her many visits, sharing the Promises of the Lord. Their son, Luke, never failed to light her face up with a big smile with his visits. Michael Miller (Jenn) and their children made a point to see Aunt Helen when they traveled in from Texas, she much appreciated the attention and love. Nephew Tommy Matlock, kept an eye on his Aunt Helen while she was living in Colonial Park Apartments as did her friends there, especially Miss Doris with her many cards and Miss Chris who kept a caring eye on Helen.  She so loved being with her friends there. Helen often spoke of her many friends over the span of her life. Peggy, Chickie, Theresa, Alice, Ann, Betty, Julie and Penny, the Nichols girls, Susan and daughters, and Stephanie and son Jared

Helen loved bright colors and never felt dressed without her lipstick in place. Please dress as she lived, brighten the season with bright colors and smiles.
