Brooklawn - On October 20, 2020. Age 89. (nee Barr). Born in Vineland, NJ she was the daughter of the late Robert C. And Sarah (Weller) Barr. Loving mother of Harry C. Brown (Carolyn), Robert J. Brown (Michele), Karen A. Clayton (Joseph) and Philip C. Brown (Gabriella). Cherished grandmother of Melissa Creighton (Raymond), Kevin Brown, Stephanie Brown, Harrison Brown, Sarah Clayton and Philip Brown; great grandmother of Liliana Creighton and Beckham Reed; sister of Donald Barr (Maryanna), sister-in-law of Jacqueline. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Helen was also predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Harry S. Brown on January 13, 2009, grandson, Andrew Weygand and her brother Robert Barr.

Helen grew up on a farm in Vineland and moved to Brooklawn at the age of 12. She attended Gloucester City High School, where she met the love of her life, Harry. Helen and Harry enjoyed Friday night dances and date nights in Camden. Helen was a Co-Captain of the GHS Cheerleading Squad and graduated in 1949. Helen enjoyed raising her children, going on vacation in Wildwood and sitting by the pool with Harry and spur of the moment trips to Cape May to the Lobster House for happy hours and sunsets. Helen was a farmer at heart. She could be found barefoot tending to her garden, with her pinned up hair. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday morning, October 29, 2020 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:45 AM. Interment will follow in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
