Howard L. Vaux, age 78, of Deptford, NJ, passed away on August 29, 2026 at home with his family by his side.
Born on December 26, 1947, in Richmond, VA, to the late Llewellyn "Bill" Vaux and Evelyn K. Vaux (née Ludwig), Howard was a graduate of Gloucester High School class of 1966; where he was an all-star football player and also excelled in track & field. He went on to further his studies and received his bachelor's degree from Rutgers University. He worked for many years as a Senior Account Executive at AT&T and the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. In his personal life, Howard was a passionate fan of the Eagles, Phillies and Sixers. He also enjoyed golf in his free time.
Howard was predeceased by his beloved wife of 40 years, Patricia A. "Patty" Vaux (née Carpenter); his parents, Llewellyn "Bill" Vaux and Evelyn K. Vaux (née Ludwig); and his brother, Stephen Vaux (survived by Kathy).
He is survived by his daughter, Holly A. Boldizar; his son, Jamie Vaux (Amy); his cherished grandchildren, Brittany, Christopher, Jordyn, Chase, Gracie, Richie, and Lauren; his great-grandchildren, Maddox, Sonny, Cruz, Gracelyn, Quinn, and Myla; his nephews, Ryan and Brett; his devoted caregiver and sister-in-law, Kelly Swierczynski; and many other extended family and friends. Howard’s family is forever grateful of the love and care provided by Samaritan Hospice as well as his caregivers.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, September 4th from 10 AM to 12 PM at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 851 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Interment will follow in New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
