Obituary

James Joseph Kinnarney, 72, a resident of Mullica Hill since 1997, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born in Framingham, Massachusetts on June 16, 1952, he was the son of the late Jack and Winnie (Acton) Kinnarney.

James, also known as Jim, proudly served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was the owner of Kinnarney Rubber Company in Mantua, NJ, where he worked over 50 years.

On July 1, 1989, at Saint Mary's Church in Gloucester City, Jim married Kathleen Murphy who survives at home. Jim and Kathy, who he affectionately called Murph, were married for 35 years and together as a couple for 42 years. Murph knew she was in for it when Jim brought his briefcase on their honeymoon.

He is survived by his 2 sons, Luke (Brianna) and Mac (Clara), his favorite daughter Sophie, and predeceased Halfsquat (dog). He shared a special bond with his grandsons Seamus and Ronan, spending any moment he was not working at KRC driving with Seamus on his lap in "bop bop's red jeep". He was a beloved brother to his siblings and their spouses Paula (Bill) McDaniel, Sean Kinnarney, Jane (predeceased George) Luker, predeceased Brian (Sue) Kinnarney, and Eoin (Kay) Kinnarney. He was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Jim enjoyed golfing with his best bud Glenn and taking golf trips with his brother Sean and good pals Ray-Ray and Steve. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycles in whichever direction had a stretch of good weather. Usually that stretch of good weather led to the family farm house in New Albany, PA where he enjoyed spending time with (or time away from) his family.

Jim was on the more quiet side, but showed his love in big ways. Whether that was supporting his kids at every sporting event, lending a listening ear (his good one) to whomever needed help, ordering too many amazon packages of supplies, and being the go-to contact for any emergency.

Jim will be missed by all those who were privileged enough to know him.
