Joan passed peacefully on April 16, 2024 at the United Methodist Community at Pitman Manor, at the age of 87. (nee Michaels). Of Pitman. Formerly of Sewell, Woodbury and Bridgeton, NJ. Predeceased by her husband, John "Jack" Meehan; her parents, Joseph and Maude Michaels and her siblings, Dolores Michaels, Antoinette Christopherson and Jay Michaels. Survived by her children, Tracy Peterson, Daniel K. Meehan, Morgan A. Meehan (Clare) and Mary Trotter (Joe); her grandchildren, Brianna Kite, Andrew Meehan, Jack Meehan and Timothy Meehan; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Stella Kite; and her sister, Carolyn Giles.
Joan was a graduate of Woodbury High School class of 1954. She was a librarian for the Gloucester County Library System for many years. Joan was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and being at the beach collecting seashells.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday morning, April 23rd at 11 AM at Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish, Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 161 Pitman Avenue, Pitman. Please arrive to church by 10:45 AM. There will be no visitation. Interment will be private.
