Passed away peacefully on August 22, 2021. Age 74. Of Somerdale, formerly of the Fairview section in Camden. Born in Camden, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Louis E. and Marie (nee: Barton) Grant. Devoted wife of 32 years to the late Leon J. Johnson. Joan is survived by her loving cousin, Roxanne Kurek (Ed), niece, Judith A. Lewitt (Benjamin K.) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joan was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School, Camden. She was a lifelong devoted parishioner of both Our Lady of Hope Parish, and Our Lady of Guadalupe Churches in Blackwood, NJ, where she was also a member of the "The Flames of Fire" prayer group and was devoted to the Prolife Movement. She retired as a Clerical Assistant with the Camden City Housing Authority.
Relatives and friends are invited to Joan's viewing on Thursday, August 26th from 10:15 am to 11:15 am in Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Agnes R.C. Church, 701 Little Gloucester Road, Blackwood. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in the church. Interment in New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ following Mass.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Joan to Sisters of Life, 1413 North 11 th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19122. Please write Joan M. Johnson in the memo.
