Obituary

On March 31, 2018. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Lavin) Murphy. Joan is survived by her sisters, Mary Romania (Samuel), Veronica White, Patricia White, her brother Thomas Murphy (Ruth). Known as "Sweet Aunt Joan" to her many nieces and nephews, she was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by Anthony, Rachel, Vincent, Albert, Trevor and Natalie. Joan was predeceased by three brothers and six sisters. She was also predeceased by her special niece, Joyce Graham who passed in February of 2016.

Joan retired after 35 years of service with American Arbitration in Philadelphia, where she worked as a secretary. She was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and loved spending time with family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 6th at 11am in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City, where family and friends may visit from 10 to 11 am. Burial will follow in New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Joan to: Msgr. Lucitt's Needy Children's Fund, P.O. Box 87, Gloucester City, NJ 08030.
