Obituary

On August 15, 2017.  Born in Philadelphia, Jack was the son of the late Philip and Ella (O'Rourke) Gendaszek. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Barbara L. (Cutler) Gendaszek; his beloved children, Julia Joshi (Rajen), John Christopher and John Lamb; brothers, Philip Gendaszek (Phyllis), Daniel Gendaszek, James Gendaszek (Kathy), and his cherished grandchildren, Ryan and Erin Joshi who will sadly miss their "Gop". He was also predeceased by his sister in law Peg Gendaszek wife of Daniel.

Jack was a graduate of Temple University and attended the Academy of Culinary Arts in Atlantic County. He worked as a supervisor for 22 years with Gulf Oil (now Chevron) in Philadelphia. He loved his church family and enjoyed working in the church's kitchen for many lunches and events. Jack loved to cook and eat, but his most cherished time was vacationing with his family.

A Memorial Service in memory of Jack will be celebrated on Saturday, August 19th at 11 am at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 741 Division Street, Gloucester City, where family and friends may visit from 10 to 11 am. Burial will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jack may be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 308, Gloucester City, NJ 08030. Please write Jack Gendaszek in the check memo.
