On January 27, 2016. Age 70. Of Gloucester City. Survived by his wife, Mary Ann Howarth (nee Niven); his children, Sue Young (Bob), Kim Rahman (Joe), Michelle Baldwin (Rich) and John T. Howarth, Jr.; his step sons, Kenny Urquhart (Annette) and Graham Urquhart; his grandchildren, Rachel, Mike, Savannah, Zachary, Olivia, Kenneth John, Dylan, Caeden and Aleah; his siblings, Ted Howarth (late Candy), Debra Corda (Ray) and Traci DeNinno (Mike) and many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Kathleen Howarth (nee Blaylock) and his brother Jay Howarth (surv. Angie).
John was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving four years during Vietnam. He was employed for 25 years with Gloucester Highway Dept. as a truck driver and equipment operator. John was a lifetime member of Brooklawn American Legion Post #72 and a lifetime member of Townsend C. Young VFW Post #3620 in Gloucester City where he served as Commander for 4 terms. He helped to start the South Jersey English Dart League and with the help of his brother Ted, they started the Gloucester City English Dart League where he also served as President.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday morning, February 1, 2016 from 8:30 to 11 AM at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth St. Gloucester City. Burial Office and Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at 11:30 AM at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension: 110 South Sussex St., Gloucester City, NJ 08030. Interment with Military Honors in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
