Obituary

On June 30, 2018. Age 85. Of Gloucester City. Surrounded and in the loving care of his devoted wife of 59 years, Eleanor A. (nee Morlachetta) Kain and children, Jack (Bernadette) Kain, Lillian (Mike) Kain-Beese, Paul (Maggie) Kain and the late Patricia A. "Tricia" Kain-Sauter (surviving husband Jim) all of "The Holy City." Dear Brother of Robert Kain (Ruth) of Woodbury and predeceased by his siblings: Joseph Jr., Francis, James, Anna "Sis" Barron and Edward. Beloved grandfather of Michael, Keirstin, Nick, Tim, Kevin, Jack, Chris, Gillian, Steve, Henry and Magdalene. Survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

John was born in Camden and was a lifelong resident of Gloucester City. He was a proud graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School Class of 1950. John proudly served our country in the U.S. Army as a Corporal and as a Paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division. He worked as a steamfitter for many years with Local Union # 420 Steamfitters in Philadelphia, PA retiring in 1993. John was a founding member and Past President of Sportsmen A.C. in Gloucester City. He was a lifelong and devoted parishioner of Saint Mary's R.C. Church in Gloucester City. John was a 3rd Degree member of the Gloucester City Knights of Columbus Council # 674 and member of the Junior Guild.

Relatives, friends and members of Sportsmen A.C., Knights of Columbus and Local # 420 Steamfitters are kindly invited to attend John's viewing on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm and Monday, July 9, 2018 from 9 am to 10:15 am at the McCann-Healey Funeral Home: 851 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Saint Mary's R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Interment with U.S. Army Military Honors in New Saint Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
