Obituary

On September 19, 2011, Age 65, of Springfield, PA, passed away at home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Born in South Philadelphia, he graduated in 1964 from St. John Neumann Catholic High School. A gifted machinist, he along with his father Louis started a machine shop in 1969. This business has grown over the past 42 years and has spanned four generations. Manufacturing components that were used in almost every industry in the world " including aerospace, military, medical, automotive, fire equipment, & petroleum production. He had a natural gift for engineering and design. Johns favorite place was the New Jersey Shore where he enjoyed the beach, boating, crabbing, and spending time with his friends. Survivors: He was the beloved husband of Joan for 44 years, Best Friend and Father to Jill Smith (Scott) and Pop Pop to his two grandsons. Predeceased by his parents Louis R. and Caroline M. Navarro and sister Phyllis Newmiller. Also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. John was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church-Springfield, a member of the Greater Wildwood Elks Lodge #1896 and an associate member of Cape May County Emerald Society. Funeral Mass: Friday, September 23 " 11AM - at Holy Cross Church, 651 E. Springfield Rd (at Bishop Rd.), Springfield, PA. Visitation: 9:30am at church prior to Mass. Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
