On December 30, 2021. Age 67. Of Somerdale. Formerly of Brooklawn. Loving and devoted husband of 45 years to Claire M. Sciarra (nee Scheurich). Loving father of Melanie L. Sciarra Thomas (Stephen M.) and Melissa Epstein (late Michael). Cherished grandfather of Taylor E. Epstein, Keira L. Epstein, Gabriel M. Epstein and Gavin Epstein. Beloved son-in-law of John and Claire Scheurich and brother-in-law of John V. Scheurich. Predeceased by his brother Justin M. Sciarra. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Jon was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Samuel and Carmella Sciarra. He graduated from Audubon High School class of 1972 and received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Rutgers Camden in 1976. Jon worked over 35 years for Camden County. He was a faithful devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, St Luke's Church in Stratford, where he was an usher at mass and a member of Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council 7800. Jon had a passion for coaching basketball and spent 24 years alongside Timmy Lenahan and Jamie DeCastro at St. Rose of Lima in Haddon Heights.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday, January 26 from 9 to 11 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Shrine: St. Luke R.C. Church: 55 Warwick Road, Stratford. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM in the church. Interment will be private.
