Surrounded by his loving family, Joe passed peacefully on August 14, 2023, at the age of 76. Longtime resident of Gloucester City. Loving and devoted husband of 53 years to Mary Ann Knecht (nee McHenry). Loving father of Stacy Starkweather (Jeremy) and Michael J. Knecht. Predeceased by his grandson, Justin Eager and his parents, George and Grace Knecht. Beloved brother of George Knecht (Dorothy) and Sally Hallquist (late Douglas). Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and his beloved aunt, Marie Knecht.
Joe worked 33 years for South Jersey Port in Camden, NJ. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Gloucester City.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday morning, August 19th from 10 AM to 11:45 AM at Saint Mary's R.C. Church, 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial 12 Noon in the church. Interment will follow in New Saint Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
