On December 26, 2020, age 53, of Williamstown. Born in Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Rosemary (Somers) DeNick. Karen is survived by her husband, James VanHerwarden; daughters, Chelsea M. Smith, Danielle A. Smith; son, Joseph M. Smith; grandchildren, Camryn, Caden, Emma, Elizabeth and Carson. She is also survived by her sisters, Joanne Thurston and Kathleen DeNick.

Karen had worked as a waitress for several local restaurant's including Ponzio's in Brooklawn.

Services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation or services at this time.
