IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Laura Jenny
Williams
July 10, 1938 – June 15, 2023
Our hearts are heavy with sadness to announce the passing of our family's beautiful matriarch, Laura Williams (nee Burleigh). Her final days were spent surrounded by her family who loved and cared for her until she passed away peacefully at home on June 15, 2023. She was 84 years old.
Loving wife to John Williams of Gloucester City. Laura and John spent 30 years together traveling, going to the casinos, watching cooking shows, sitting on their backyard patio watching the birds, and enjoying time with family and friends.
Laura and former spouse, Eugene (Gene) Bangle, Sr. of Bellmawr, had eight children together. While both went on to remarry, Laura and Gene remained friendly and enjoyed time spent together with their children and grandchildren. Gene's wife, Peggy (Lee), was also a special friend to Laura through the years.
A devoted mother, Laura is survived by her seven children, Eugene (Gene) Bangle, Jr. (Selina), William Bangle (Janice), Michael Bangle (Carol), Theresa Alonso (Joe, Laura's favorite son-in-law), Steven Bangle (Carol), Andrew Bangle (Donna), and Edward Bangle (Michelle). She was predeceased by her son, Joseph Bangle.
Adoring Mom-Mom, Laura's pride and joy were her 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. There isn't anything she wouldn't do for them! Whether it was popsicles, favorite snacks, dollar store toys, or little white envelopes with $20 inside, she never arrived empty handed. She was the Mom-Mom everyone dreamed of having.
Born Laura Jenny Burleigh on July 10th, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth (nee Werner) Burleigh, Sr.
One of eight children, Laura is the dear sister of Joseph Burleigh (Barbara), and Ruth Schemelia (Larry). Laura was predeceased by her sisters Ellen Burleigh, and Dot Burleigh Boos (Frank Sanders), and her brothers William Burleigh Jr. (Shirley), Edward Burleigh (Gloria), and George Burleigh.
A long time Gloucester City resident, Laura was well known and well loved in her small town. From her bartending days at The Red Mill and Frank's Place to her retirement years spent with her family, she became a friend to many and was respected by all who were lucky enough to know her. She was a passionate Elvis fan, often listening to his music, filling her home with memorabilia, visiting Graceland, going to Elvis impersonator shows, and making sure her grandchildren knew exactly who he was. She was always so proud of her Elvis tattoo! Laura's devotion to her family, her strong work ethic, and her kindness and generosity were a few of her best traits. She has passed these on to her children, all who have a special part of her in them. She leaves a wonderful legacy behind in her family. She will be deeply missed.
