Leonard L. Lacovara, Jr. passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 10, 2022 at the age of 85. Resident of Mantua, formerly of Brooklawn. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Josette (nee Seyller); children: Nicholas (Lisa), John (Barbara), the late Len, and Marc (Donna); grandchildren: Crystal, Niccole, the late Marc (Alesa), Lauren, Kaitlyn (Anthony), Lenny, and Kendal; great-grandchildren: Noah, Rylie, Chloe, Alex, Carter Jo, and Cooper; sister, Danielle.
Len was a stand-out athlete at Gloucester Catholic High School (Class of 1956) where he played football, basketball, baseball, and track. He is a proud veteran of the United States Army. Len worked as an officer with the Brooklawn Police Department, with the Philadelphia Naval Yard, and was the owner of J&L Delivery Service.
Len was an avid hunter and fisherman and still enjoyed taking his great-grandson, Noah, fishing at the pier in Gloucester City. He was also very proud of the tomato farm he grew each year.
Services will be private. Donations in Len's memory can be made to the Firefighter Thomas G. Stewart, III Memorial Scholarship, care of The Gloucester City Fire Department, 1 N. King Street, Gloucester City, NJ 08030. Please indicate "In Memory of Len Lacovara" with your donation.
