On October 1, 2012. Age 85. Of Gloucester City. Loving husband of 62 years to Joan (nee Leopold) Jackson. Devoted father of Leroy A. (Edie) Jackson, III; Robert (Jane) Jackson, Suzie (Bill) Green, Patty (Bob) Jackson, Gary (Donna) Jackson, Tim (Liz) Jackson, Nancy Murphy, Raymond (Karen) Jackson and Sharon (Lou) Underwood. Beloved grandfather of Keith, Kevin, Amy, Scott, Lori, Billy, Lindsay, Ryan, Michael, Sean, Matt, Kirsten, Lauren, Melissa, Raymond, Steven, Luke, Josh, Maddy and Harry. Cherished great-grandfather of Connor, Chelsea, William, Sienna, Savannah, Nicholas, Sophia, Cole and Samantha. Predeceased by his sister Nancy Goan. Leroy graduated from Gloucester Catholic High School class of 1944. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Texaco/Eagle Point Refinery after 38 years. Leroy was a member of the Fortescue Captain Assoc. and St. Marys Guild. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and loved spending summers at the Jersey Shore. Leroy was an avid fan of Notre Dame and Gloucester Catholic. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his viewing on Thursday evening, October 4th, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM and Friday morning, October 5th, from 9 to 10:15 AM at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street (at Brown Street) Gloucester City.
