IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lucille C.
Bruno
October 13, 1934 – May 30, 2023
On May 30, 2023. Age 88. (nee Crescenzo) Of Voorhees. Formerly of Haddon Township and Collingswood. Loving wife of 40 years to the late John A. Bruno, Sr. Cherished mother of Stephen F. Bruno, Sr. (Fiance Noelita) and James F. Bruno, Sr (Colleen). Devoted grandmother of Stephen F. Bruno, Jr., Emily Bruno (Fiance Steve), Julia R. Bruno, James F. Bruno, Jr. and Joseph A. Bruno. Beloved sister of Alfonso Crescenzo and Anna Marie Bildner. Predeceased by her siblings: Minnie Gianetti, Carmella McMenamin, Tony Crescenzo, Josephine Pascarella, Rosie Arcaro, Joseph Crescenzo, Donald Crescenzo, Anthony Crescenzo, and Francis Crescenzo. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lucille was born in Philadelphia, PA and was raised in North Philadelphia. She moved to Collingswood, NJ in 1960 to start her family after marrying John in 1955. Her Catholic faith was important to her as she was a devoted parishioner of Transfiguration R.C. Church in Collingswood. She was proudly involved in the family activities including the PTA at Transfiguration Catholic School where the boys attended grammar school.
For over 30 years, Lucille was a dedicated banquet server for the Local #54 union in Philadelphia, PA. Team Captain "Momma Lou" as she was known, had an amazing passion and dedication as banquet server. She was recognized for numerous awards including the very prestigious "Employee of the Year Award". Her true love was her family. She lived for hosting regular dinners and being together especially during the holidays. She was often dancing around the kitchen to the music of Frank Sinatra while making her delicious chicken cutlets and Italian soups. She was passionate about entertaining others and had this natural ability for making everyone that was in her company feel welcome and comfortable.
To say she treasured every minute with family and friends is an understatement. She truly did. A true fan of baseball and very proud of her grandsons success reminding them to "hit it over", referring to hit a home run. Lucille was the Family Matriarch and "The BOSS" leading by example always there offering advice to her sons and grandchildren.
