Obituary

Marty was born November 26, 1925 to Marcelious Brantley, Sr. and Virginia Taylor at home in Egg Harbor, NJ. He peacefully departed this life on Saturday, January 17, 2015. Marty was educated in the Camden School system. He proudly severed our country in the U.S. Navy, during World War II. Marty was a hard worker and was employed many years at Guaranteed Break parts and White Hills Furniture among many other jobs. Marty favor saying was "Fairly Well". Marty was very quiet but in his quietness, he was loved by everyone he came in contact with, especially his Mt. Hope UAME Church family. Marty enjoyed bowling, shooting pool (which he received many trophies for). He also loved watching football, photographing and traveling. He enjoyed taken pictures of people, places and things. Marty was a long time member of Mt. Hope UAME Church in Camden, where he was a retired door keeper of the Lord (usher) and sang on the men's choir. Marty was a fighter he never let anything keep him down. Every time he fallen, he always got back up. Marty was predeceased in death by his two sisters Ernestine and Charlotte White, 2 brothers Freddy and Cornelius Brantley, wife Irene Brown-Brantley. Marty leaves to cherish his memories former wife, Della H Brantley, Sons Marcelious (Peanut), Brian Brantley and Daughter Marcella Della Brantley-Revels (Melvin). Brothers, Alphonso (Celia) and Lawrence Brantley (Jo), Wallace White. Also survived by his caregiver Tess Holley (granddaughter-James) 4 other grandchildren Tina and Paul, Teresa Brantley, Preston Thomas, 12 great grandchildren Tyesha, Tyreese, Nehemiah, Contessa, Jazmine, Javon, Desinee, Nat, Montel, Arden, Dominque, Prince, 5 great- great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Viewing Wednesday morning from 9 to 11 AM at Mt. Hope UAME Church: Princess Ave. & Kaighn Ave., Camden. Service 11 AM. Interment Brig. Gen. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
