New Castle, Delaware – Formerly a longtime resident of Gloucester City. On October 21, 2021. Age 82. (nee Sturgis) Beloved wife of 27 years to the late Robert G. Mowery. Devoted daughter of the late Clarence W. Sturgis, Sr. and Jessie Catherine Sturgis (nee Paterson – Reid). Cherished sister of Evelyn Mary (late Chester) Horner of New Castle, Delaware. Predeceased by her siblings: Catherine Sturgis and Clarence Sturgis.  Survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews and cousins.

Marie was born, raised and lived many years in Gloucester City. After her husband, Robert died in 2004, Marie moved to New Castle, Delaware to be close to her sister, Evelyn and family. Marie loved her family and she looked forward to family gatherings and holidays. She enjoyed Western TV shows, watching General Hospital and a love for animals.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Marie's viewing on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 10 am to 11 am at McCann-Healey Funeral Home: 851 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Pastor Deb Conner will officiate services 11 am in the funeral home. Interment with her late husband, Robert in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Washington Township. Family requests Masks to be worn inside the funeral home at all times during the viewing and service .
