Age 86, Of Philadelphia, PA and Smithfield, RI, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012, surrounded by the love of her family, after a long and courageous battle with Dementia. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Marie (Donnelly) Akroyd. She was the loving wife of the late Russell E. Raby and devoted mother of Russell J. and his wife Marie Elena, David and his late wife Patricia, and Carolyn Moretti and her husband Glenn. Grandmother of David, Jennifer, John, Katrina, Kimberly and Russell. Great grandmother of ten. Marie grew up in Philadelphia and was employed for many years by Philco, where she met her husband. In 1989, Marie moved to Rhode Island to live with her daughter and family. She was a happy and loving mother, wife and friend. Marie lived with a passion for learning, spreading joy and having a good laugh. Calling hours Wednesday, beginning at 6 PM with a service to follow at 7:30 PM in the A. A.
