On September 17, 2022. Age 76. Of Gloucester City. Loving husband of the late Maureen R. Burns (nee Holmes). Loving father of Martin J. Burns (Leah) and Julia Mortimore (Leonard) and step-father of Michele Scott (Shawn) and Vince Antico. Cherished grandfather of Martin James, William Joseph, Sebastian, Sophia, Emily, Shane and Kaylee. Predeceased by his siblings, John Burns, Thomas Burns, Michael Burns, Ellen Szczepanski, Jean Schmitt and Kathleen Burns. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Marty was a graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School, where he played on the basketball team. He went on to proudly serve our country in the U.S. Army. Marty was a member for over 40 years with the Carpenters Union Local 393.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday morning, Sept. 22 nd from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 426 Monmouth St, Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM in the church. Interment with U. S. military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
