Mary Jane D' Ancona (nee Van Doren) of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, 85, passed away at home on Thursday, July 24, 2014. Born in Newark, NJ. Her parents were Catherine Mae and Frederick Van Doren. She was raised in Vineland and attended Sacred Heart High School. She also lived in Clementon, NJ and wintered in Sunny Isles Beach, FL for 33 years. Jane worked as a telephone Operator for New Jersey Bell for 35 years in the Atlantic City, Vineland and Berlin offices and was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers. Over the years, she loved to dance, garden, read, sun on the beach, and shop for stylish clothes. She is survived by her loving husband and dance partner of 47 years, Frank D'Ancona, her devoted nieces and nephews, Denise (nee Costa) and Thomas Durkin, Dr. Richard Costa (Irina), Gail and Paul Gangi, and the extended family of Lorraine and Gary Bellotti, Gary and Diane D' Ancona and their families, and by many dear great, and great-great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Nancy A. Costa (nee Van Doren). At the request of the family, services are private. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at a later date.
