Suddenly, On December 17, 2005. Age 32. Of Gloucester City, NJ. Loving and caring son of Mary Elizabeth Ragen (nee Simila) and her husband John and Michael F. Reeves and his wife Kathy. Devoted sister of Donna M. Reeves of Gloucester City and Jennifer A. Reeves of Paoli, PA. Beloved maternal grandson of the late John W. Simila, Sr. and Florence Green. Beloved paternal grandson of Richard V. Reeves and Frances L. Donegan. Michael is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Michael lived in Gloucester City his entire life and was a 1992 graduate of Gloucester City High School. He was a member of the National Honor Society and played football all four years. Michael earned three varsity letters in 1989, 1990 and 1991. The Gloucester City High School Football Team won three consecutive Tri-County Chamionships. He was All-Tri-County Conference All-Star and was the proud recipient of the Frank McCully Award in 1991 which is given to Michael for his Desire and Courage. Michael worked 10 years as an Insulator for Union Local # 14 in Philadelphia, PA. He loved his dog Lexie and was devoted to his family and friends. He was an avid cook and had a passion for gardening and spending time at the Ocean.
Relatives, friends, fellow Union workers and classmates are kindly invited to attend his visitation on Thursday morning 9 to 11:30 am at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street (at Brown Street) Gloucester City Phone: 856-456-1142. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 Noon at Saint Mary?s R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth Street (at Atlantic Street) Gloucester City. Cremation will be private for the family. There will be no evening visitation. Family requests that memorial donations be made in Michael?s memory to Fox Chase Cancer Center: Attention Development Office: 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111. Please mention in the memo of the check Mesothelioma Fund and please make checks payable to Fox Chase Cancer Center.
