Patricia A.
Abbott
October 19, 1944 – May 16, 2026
Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery
2:30 - 3:00 pm (Eastern time)
Patricia “Pat” A. Abbott, 81 years old, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026.
Born on October 19, 1944 in Riverside, New Jersey, Pat lived life on her own terms and followed a path shaped by independence, service, and personal interests.
Pat proudly served in the United States Army as a drill instructor, an experience that remained one of the defining chapters of her life. She especially enjoyed her time stationed at Fort Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska and often reflected on those years with pride and appreciation.
After completing her military service, Pat returned to New Jersey and continued her working years with a local Department of Public Works. She found satisfaction in practical work and enjoyed opportunities to remain connected to one of her longtime interests—gardening.
In retirement, Pat preferred a quieter pace of life and spent her time tending to her gardens, reading, and painting. She valued routine, self-reliance, and the comfort of familiar hobbies.
Pat was preceded in death by her mother, Anna L. Hefner-Abbott; her father, Orville J. Abbott; her sister, Myrtle Halterman; and her brother, George Abbott.
She is survived by her brother, Roger Abbott.
Those who knew Pat will remember her as someone who valued independence, maintained strong convictions, and found enjoyment in life’s quieter moments.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Pat’s U.S. Army Military Honors on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery: 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Interment will follow the Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Patricia’s memory. https://t2t.org/
