On June 25, 2012. Age 77. Of Medford and Formerly of the Fairview Section of Camden. Loving Son of the late Peter J. Finnegan, Sr. and Mary V. (nee Coyle). In the loving care of his children: Lisa F. Coffey and husband Norman of Moorestown and Michael J. Finnegan and wife Kimberli of Southampton. Dear Brother of William Finnegan of the Fairview section of Camden. Beloved Grandfather of Christopher, A.J., Sam, Samuel and Emily. Peter was born in Camden, NJ, raised in Fairview Section and was a graduate of Camden Catholic High School in Camden and graduated from LaSalle University with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. He received a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Drexel University. Pete proudly served our country in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 as Audit Specialist, Headquarters Co., Verdun, France. He worked for the State of New Jersey as a Tax Examiner, Treasury Department in 1959 then was promoted to an Institutional Adjuster, Vineland State School from 1959 to 1964. Peter was then promoted to Business Manager for the New Lisbon Developmental Center from 1964 to 1991. He moved to Medford in 1969 and was a devoted parishioner and usher at Saint Mary of the Lakes R.C. Church in Medford. Peter was a 3rd Degree honorary life member of the Saint Mary of the Lakes Knights of Columbus Council # 6520 in Medford. He enjoyed swimming and working out at Jim Coreas Gym in Cherry Hill. During his retirement, he enjoyed volunteering at Virtua Hospital in Marlton and preparing tax returns for his fellow AARP members. Relatives, friends and Knights of Columbus are kindly invited to attend his visitation on Friday, June 29 from 10 am to 11 am at Saint Mary of the Lakes R.C. Church: 40 Jackson Road, Medford, NJ 08055. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am in the church. Inurnment with his late parents in New Saint Marys Cemetery, Bellmawr.
