Passed away suddenly on August 13, 2021. Age 69. Born in Camden, NJ, he was the son of the late Peter J. Sr. and Helen (Gogolin) Prelas. Beloved father of the Hannah Boucher (Austin), Ted Enger (Maggie); pop pop to Ever Enger. Dear brother to, John Prelas, Deb Schafer (Jim), Helen Gallagher (Pat). Loving uncle to Patrick Gallagher, Justin Schafer, Christina Gallagher (Neil Zielinski); uncle and godfather to Erin Schafer, godfather to Jamie Kerrigan Fenton and great uncle to Chase and Reilly Zielinski.

Pete grew up and flourished in Gloucester City. For over 20 years, he served the community as "Pete of Hoagie Heaven". He provided food weekly for the poor and to St. Mary's Church. He would never show up empty handed. Before building his own business, he was a contractor building his own house in Manyunk and sometimes building kitchens for the stars. He continued on through his life as a handyman to all. The real light in Pete's life were his children, Ted and Hannah. His family again grew with their marriages to Maggie and Austin, whom he loved greatly. He was most excited though, about the birth of his first grandchild and little buddy, Ever. His three best friends, his siblings, always kept him busy and drove him a bit crazy. In laws were family, blood didn't matter. Pete, John, Deb and Helen were inseparable and had a bond like no other. Pete always saw life with a "glass half full" mentality. He always worked to better himself while striving to help others in the process. His faith and his family always kept him going. He will be sorely missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday, August 21st from 10:15 am to 11:15 am in St. Mary's Church, 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 am in the church. Inurnment in New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, will be held privately.
