Obituary

On February 28, 2021. Age 91. Of Collingswood. Formerly of Camden. Beloved son of the late Nicholas E. Villano and Rose Raymond Villano. Survived by his brother, William Villano. Predeceased by his siblings, Dorothy Gallagher, Aldo Villano, Eddie Villano and Thelma LaRue. Cherished uncle of Christopher Vasapolli, Valiant Vasapolli, Michael Gallagher and Donna Vasapolli. Also survived by many loving great-nieces and nephews.

Raymond proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He graduated from the Philadelphia College of art. He worked many years as an artist for the Philadelphia Bulletin. Later in life he worked at the ACME in Westmont. " Greater love has no man than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends." John 15:13. To me my Uncle Ray exemplifies this. It is closer to the love that a father has for their children, or children for their father......We are called to not settle for anything less than this kind of love. This kind of love will change the whole world if Christians will submit to God's command to love like Him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday morning, March 8, 2021 from 10 to 11 AM at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 851 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Funeral service 11 AM in the funeral home. Interment will U.S. Navy honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
