Obituary

On November 26, 2016. Age 70. Of Gloucester City. Born in Oshkosh, WI, he was the son of the late Gerald and Dorothy (Pride) Brooks. Loving father of Heather L. Brooks, Shelby L. Brooks-Widen and Ariel M. Brooks; uncle, of Robert Brooks, Jr. Rick was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Marlene "Bonnie" (Prosser) Brooks and brothers, Robert Brooks, Sr. and Gerald Brooks.

Rick proudly served our country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Mantua Masonic Lodge #95. Rick worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for Allis-Chalmers in Palmyra, NJ, in addition he worked in real estate, maintenance and construction, he was known as a "Jack of all Trades". His passions included traveling, hunting and making people laugh. Rick was loved by so many for his "Heart of Gold", he was a friend to all, "From 2 to 200".

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday, December 3rd from 11 am to 1 pm at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth St., Gloucester City, followed by a Funeral Service at 1 pm. Interment will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Rick to the American Cancer Society or to the ASPCA.
