On December 30, 2013. Age 78. Of Woodbury Heights. Formerly of Gloucester City. Loving husband of 51 years to Nancy MacDermott. (nee Tiedeken). Loving father of Robert G. MacDermott, Jr. (Donna), Nancy E. MacDermott and the late Cheryl Ann MacDermott. Cherished Pop Pop of Sean P. Goodwin and Gavin Robert MacDermott. Best friend of 78 years to Fred Garwood (Randy). Cherished son of the late William E. MacDermott, Sr. and Eleanor MacDermott (nee Gradwell). Predeceased by his siblings, Fannie Park Mason, William E. MacDermott, Jr. and James G. MacDermott. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bob was a 1953 graduate of Gloucester City High School, where he was a standout athlete in football and basketball. He was the first recipient of the Kowalski Memorial Award for best tackler. At age 19, Bob worked on the construction of the Walt Whitman Bridge. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force. Bob retired after 45 years of service from Heat and Frost Insulators Local 14 of Philadelphia. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday evening, January 3, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM and again on Saturday morning, January 4, 2014 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City.
