IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Teresa A.
Severance
July 26, 1955 – January 14, 2021
On January 14, 2021. (nee Cooney) Age 65. Of Deptford and formerly of Gloucester City. Loving wife of the late Edward R. Severance. Predeceased by her parents: Raymond Cooney, Sr. and Teresa Mary Cooney (nee Coons). Cherished mother of Tracy (Anthony) Hartman (nee Boody) and the late Raymond E. Cowgill, III (surviving Paula Abate). Beloved and devoted grandmother of James D. Spencer, Anthony Hartman and Angela Rae Cowgill. Predeceased by her brother, Raymond Cooney surviving wife Eileen Cooney (nee Murphy). Dear Aunt of Danielle (Tyler) Zook (nee Cooney) and Dean Cooney (fiancé Katelyn Cairns).
Teresa was born on July 26, 1955 in Philadelphia, PA and moved to Gloucester City, NJ at the age of 8. She graduated from Gloucester City Jr. / Sr. High School in 1974 and remained a Gloucester City resident her entire life. She would be the first to tell you how proud she was to be from Gloucester City! Terry's most important thing in this world to her were her grandchildren! Growing up in Gloucester City, she had a group of girlfriends that she went to school with and were very close. These cherished friends who shared life's journey with were Sue, Deane H., Debbie, Patty, Diane T. and this list could go on forever. Everyone knew Terry for her contagious laugh and big smile and the way she told it like it was! If she wasn't with her grandchildren, she and Ed were taking road trips to Lancaster, PA, ghost haunting in graveyards or she was dragging him to Walmart, Sam's Club and every other store in the area. She drove Ed crazy but never said a word.
Terry worked for the Camden County Sheriff's Department. She worked at Del Monte Produce at Holt Logistics until she couldn't work anymore from her diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. Raymond and Tracy had many friends that became our mom's kids also. So many to list but they all had a special place in her heart.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Teresa's visitation on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Saint Mary's R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City, NJ 08030.
