Obituary

Bill passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 15th, 2023, at the age of 80. Born in Camden, NJ, he was the son of the late Donald H. and Verna (Snyder) Allison.

A life-time resident of Gloucester City, he was the loving and devoted husband of 56 years to Jo-Ann (DiGiacomo) Allison. Proud father of William T. Allison Jr. (Sharon), Patrice C. Chambers (Mark). Devoted grandfather of Nicholas (Jennifer), Dr. Jennifer (John), Jessica (Kyle), Nicole and Kaitlyn (Sean); brother, Donald Allison, Jr; lifelong best friend, Ron Middleton and grand dog, Chloe. Bill was also predeceased by his son, Jason M. Allison (2018); brother, Francis Allison and his sister, Donna Allison.

Bill honored his country by proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force. He retired as a truck driver with the Teamsters Local # 676 in Collingswood, NJ and later worked as a park security guard in Gloucester City, where he met and talked with many new friends. He was a long-time member of the St. Mary's R.C. Church, Gloucester City. He was the owner of Charlie's Ice in Gloucester City and was a founding member of the AC Hawks. Bill had a passion for cowboy movies, loved to cook and enjoyed his time at the shore. He was a long-time sponsor of "Boys Town" and his favorite holiday was always Christmas.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 10:30am to 12:45 pm at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00PM. Interment will follow at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Bill to the Msgr. Lucitt Needy Children's Christmas Fund, P.O. Box 87, Gloucester City, NJ 08030. Please write William T. Allison in the memo.
