On March 5, 2022. Age 68. Of Deptford, NJ. Loving husband of  Donna M. (Gogolin) Crothers of 47 years. Proud and devoted father of Jeffrey Crothers (Alicia), Dana Like (Brandon); cherished grandchildren, Alex, Austin, Gabriel, Ava, Amelia, Aurora, Aurelia; sister-in-law, Dot Gogolin; nephews Scott (Sandy) Gogolin, Shawn Gogolin and niece, Dawn Yushchak (Mark); former wife of Billy, Kim Crothers; his dogs, Cody and Abby; his two sisters and many friends and family. William was predeceased by his son, William (Billy) Crothers, father and mother-in law, John and Lillie Gogolin; brother-in-law, Jack Gogolin; father, Harry E. and mother, Margaret (Sieger) Crothers.

William was a resident and dedicated police officer of Gloucester City for 29 years. During his tenure, he was a D.A.R.E. Officer, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant and ultimately Chief of Police. In previous years he also worked with Woodbury and Oaklyn Police Departments.

William was a true family man to his wife, children and grandchildren whom he loved spending time with always. William enjoyed exercising, watching Law and Order, eating a great Italian meal and drinking black coffee.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm in St. Mary's R.C. Church, 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City, where family and friends may visit from 11:00 to 12:45 PM. Cremation will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of William to Donate Life, American Cancer Society or a local animal shelter. Please write William G. Crothers in the memo.
