IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William T.
Pollard, Jr.
August 25, 1942 – September 30, 2024
Surrounded by his loving family, Bill passed peacefully on September 30, 2024, at the age of 82. Of Blackwood, New Jersey. Loving and devoted husband of 46 years to Olga Pollard (nee Rybak). Loving father of William T. "Bill" Pollard, III (Pamela) and Sean P. Pollard (Tanya Garkavaya). Loving and adored B-Pop/P-Pop of Riahna, William T. "Liam", IV and Declan Pollard. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, Godchildren, and two brothers Dennis (Maureen) and Walter (Carol). Preceded in death by his parents, William T. Sr & Dorothy, and brother Ronald (surviving Ruth) Pollard.
Bill was a longtime resident of Blackwood and was a member of the first graduating class at Triton Regional High School. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Bill spent many years as a printer for American Bank in Pennsauken before working in the office for the family business, Pollard Construction. This job was the highlight of his career, as he worked with his t hree brothers, who were so important to him. Bill was a longtime parishioner and usher at Our Lady of Hope Parish (FKA St. Agnes Church).
Bill was a devoted family man, and there was nothing he adored more than his kids and, especially, his grandchildren. He spent countless hours babysitting Riahna, Liam and Declan, supporting them at games, and cherishing them to the full extent. You could often find him asleep with a baby or child on his lap. A close second to his family were his precious lottery scratch-offs, and he left a trail of silver dust wherever he went. He loved the Eagles, but made a special effort to act interested to bond with his sons and talk football. He loved Corvettes and classic cars, and enjoyed watching Lifetime on volume 100. This past summer, he was fortunate and thrilled to spend quality time with extended family at the Pollard family reunion (Pollardpalooza) at Walter Jr's (Cathy) farm in Henniker, NH.
Bill had a one-of-a-kind sense of humor and was known for making hilarious (sometimes inappropriate) jokes. This quality carried him up until his last days in the hospital.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday morning, October 4th from 10:15 to 11:45 AM at Our Lady of Hope Parish: St. Agnes Church, 701 Little Gloucester Rd., Blackwood. Mass of Christian Burial 12 noon in the church. Interment will be private.
